Why Sydney Projects Come to Newcastle for Stone

Sydney has no shortage of stone yards. What it has less of is a curated selection you can view slowly, in natural light, without a queue. Slab House is a natural stone slab showroom at Mayfield West, Newcastle — about 1 hour 45 minutes from the Upper North Shore and Hills District, and around two hours from the CBD and Northern Beaches via the M1 — holding a hand-selected range of quartzite, marble, dolomite, granite and limestone.

Architects and interior designers use us for the slabs that define a project: a bookmatched island, a feature wall, a fireplace. For a single statement stone, the drive is a morning; for a whole project, we can hold a selection so you make one trip.

How It Works from Sydney

1. Shortlist online, confirm in person. Every slab is on the site with its own photograph — start with the quartzite, marble and dolomite collections, or send us your brief and we'll photograph candidate slabs for you first.
2. Book a viewing. Open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am–3pm, and by appointment outside those hours including weekends.
3. Delivery to your stonemason. We deliver to fabricators across Sydney and coordinate timing with them directly. Slabs are inspected, packed and crated before they leave.

Pricing and Trade

Slabs are priced per square metre by stone. We supply stonemasons, builders, architects and interior designers with trade pricing — enquire for the current list. Homeowners are welcome to select directly and have the slab delivered to their fabricator.
